POLICY ON SUSTAINABLE
PALM OIL SOURCING
Indutrade Colombia Sociedad de Comercialización Internacional S.A.S., Indutrade C.I. S.A.S., Indutrade Agro and Indutrade Cargo S.A.S. (Indutrade) is a group related to the commercialization of raw materials, mainly vegetable fats and oils, its derivatives and other raw materials for the oleochemical industry as well as those of soap and food, keeping focused on generating values for its allies both suppliers and clients.
We endeavor for Excellence, and we work hard to continually improve focusing on the traceability and effectiveness of our supply chain aiming always for the highest standards of sustainability within our supply chain.
Indutrade acts as a broker in the palm oil industry, we do not own any land, plantations, or storage tanks. Our main suppliers are in
Colombia, South America and Central America, for RSPO and ISCC certified and conventional CPO and its derivatives.
Indutrade ́s sustainable commitments have been developed through its three main pillars:
CERTIFIED PROCESSES
Indutrade acts as a broker in the palm oil industry, we do not own any land, plantations, or storage tanks. Our main suppliers are in Colombia, South America and Central America, for RSPO, ISCC, KOSHER certified and conventional CPO and its derivatives. We are recognized as OEA which facilitates all of our export and import operations.
Indutrade believes in leading by example. As RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) member since 2016 we operate as Traders in Single Site. As an ISCC member we are certified under the ISCC EU.
ENCOURAGING HUMAN TALENT AND DIVERSITY
Indutrade acts responsibly to guarantee that all the people involved in our commercial operation are treated with dignity and respect. We celebrate all diversify communities.
RESPECT FOR GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT
Indutrade believes all agricultural supply chains should be environmentally sustainable and economically beneficial to local communities. the sustainable sourcing of Palm Oil, Palm Kernel Oil, and its derivatives must be produced in a manner that is legally compliant and traceable, that protects forests and biodiversity, reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and respects the rights of indigenous peoples, workers and local communities.
This policy reflects Indutrade ́s business conduct and is applicable to all C.I. Indutrade ́s supply chain participants: from direct suppliers (refineries and palm oil mills) to plantations.
We encourage our suppliers to adopt these pillars for a better, more prosperous and just planet. We believe in continuous improvement and using international standards to achieve sustainability and reduce risks in the supply chain.
INDUTRADE ADDITIONAL COMMITMENTS:
Sustainability commitments, in addition to those stated previously, which are applicable to any new oil palm plantings by suppliers to Indutrade and their third-party suppliers include:
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
•No deforestation and protection of High Conservation Value (HCV) areas.
•No deforestation and protection of High Carbon Stock (HCS) areas.
•No fire/burning is used for land clearing. If used, shall be in exceptional circumstances
•Green House Gases (GHG) emissions are identified and reduced
NO DEVELOPMENT ON PEAT LAND
•Peat lands are identified and protected from development of new plantings.
HUMAN RIGHTS AND WORKPLACE
Respect the land tenure rights of indigenous and local communities, including their right to give or withhold their Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) to operations on land over which they hold legal, communal or customary rights in accordance with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and the Social Requirements for Conserving High Carbon Stock Forests.
We are against, so we forbid the use of forced and child labor, discrimination and harassment of workers.
We respect labor rights, including and not limiting to contract, temporary, and migrant workers.
We Pay all workers the statutory monthly minimum wage and overtime compensation, in accordance with the current labor regulations.
We promote a safe and healthy working environment that is free of harassment.
We Provide adequate equipment and training on the implementation of health and safety policies.
SMALLHOLDER INCLUSION
Support the inclusion of smallholders in the palm oil supply chain and help them to comply with our sustainability policy.
Indutrade supports best management practices to conserve water, soil and associated biodiversity as well as the use of environmental and social impact assessments to prevent, mitigate and remediate negative impacts.
In order to achieve these commitments Indutrade will:
Actively promote and support the transformation of the palm oil supply chain through a process of supplier engagement. We will continue to engage with key suppliers to promote our policy commitments and build capacity of mills and supplier
companies to ensure compliance.
-Communicate these commitments to our suppliers and will report annually progress and performance of the supply chain
-Promote the adoption of international standards like RSPO and ISCC by its suppliers
-Continually be an active supporter of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and will work to strengthen the RSPO standard and its enforcement.
-Resolve complaints and conflicts within our supply chain effectively and responsibly via a credible, accessible and transparent grievance process.
According to RSPO P&C 2018 definition: peat land is a soil with cumulative organic layer(s) comprising more than half of the upper 80 cm or 100 cm of the soil surface containing 35% or more of organic matter (35% or more Loss on Ignition) or 18% or more organic carbon. Note for management of existing plantations in Malaysia and Indonesia, a narrower definition has been used, based on national regulations: namely soil with an organic layer of more than 50% in the top 100 cm containing more than 65% organic matter.
